Higher Education in Pakistan and Azad

Jammu and Kashmir

 

The delegation visited the following Universities in Islamabad, Pakistan and Mirpur, Nerian Sharif in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

  • Government Teacher Training College for Women
      • Islamabad

The delegation was also able to have meetings with the Minister for higher education of Pakistan as well as the staff at the British Council based in Islamabad who had responsibility for developing links between Pakistani and British education institutions.

 

These meeting enabled the delegation to contextualise the information and perceptions gained when visiting institutions and talking to staff and students and in formulating recommendations for further work between Bradford and Pakistan.

 

The delegation met the following officials:-

  • British Council
      • Ms Shezreen Shah, Projects Manager for Higher Education Link
      • Ms Alice Castillejo, Deputy Director Youth Projects.
      • Mrs Nadia Kamran – School Links Manager
  • The Higher Education Commission
      • Professor Dr Atta-ur-Rahman, Federal Minister and Chairman of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
      • Professor Dr Sohail Naqvi, Executive Director, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
